excess filter change interval | |
i live in anne arundel county, maryland in water front home. i brought the house 7 years ago and at that time had installed a new well at approximately 90-100 feet. i utilize a submerged pump with an expansion tank with pressure switch in my basement to activate the pump.
i have a big blue style filter housing with a ge fxhtc filter cartridge with 25 micron particle reduction. next in line is a culligan resin style water softener and potash injection system(for ph adjustment) which are also both less than 7 years old.
my problem is that i have gone from a 6+ month filter change interval to 1 week. the filter housing is rusty red inside and the filter is also rusty red and very heavy.
what course of action would you recommend?
